christian struggles

Are you tasked with doing anything right now that seems extremely difficult? Maybe you are starting a new role at work, in ministry, or in a friendship that seems tough, or you are struggling in your marriage. For one it may parenting and the struggles that go along with it and for another, it may be juggling all the people and things that tug on you dailiy. Maybe you are growing weary and feeling like you need to quit, or that you don’t have what it takes to keep going.

You are not in this alone. I’ve been there and I am still be there in some areas. You have help. Ask God to help you not to quit, not to get lazy or weary. Keep pushing in. God’s strength is enough. What ever our it is, you do not have to face it alone. You do not have to quit if you know that God is calling you to more in that area. Here are 3 reasons I often find myself struggling in various areas:

3 Reasons why It May Be so Difficult

  1. I’ve Stopped Operating in the strength of God – When I move away from focusing on the Word of God and time with God, my strength and fervency dwindles. The Lord has the power to refresh us and restore the joy and strength that we’ve lost along the way.

“For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.” Jeremiah 31:25

2. I am not praying enough – Sometimes we spend more time talking to others than talking to the Lord. We should be careful not to let our “sharing” with others get so great that we depend on them to get through the difficulties. Prayer fuels us and shifts our perspective from a self-focus to a God focus. Instead of what can I do to fix this, it becomes God what can You do? What will You do? What will You have me to to?

“Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:4

3. I’ve grown lazy and apathetic –This one is a tough one. Sometimes, we grow to accept the situation, yet we still complain about it. Someone once told me, when you are sick of being sick, you move to greater measures. Sometimes we need to step up our spiritual game. Fasting is one way we can help ourselves get serious about the situation. It says Lord, I’m willing to give up _______ for “x” amount of time in order to seek your face more clearly about this situation.

If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, (crave, and require of necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 Amplified Bible

For the sake of accountability, share with someone you trust an area that you are currently finding difficult to push through in. Share with God through prayer and journaling what your struggles are and what you need help with.
