3 Ways to Keep the Fire Burning

Leviticus 6:13 “The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.”

In romantic relationships, we are sternly warned to do all we can to not let the spark or the fire die. I was challenged this week to apply that advice to my walk with God. So often we are caught up in our lives: going to and fro, getting our tasks accomplished, attending the events we’ve rsvp’d to. But what if I applied all my energy and passion into not letting my spiritual fire die? My fire would perhaps spark someone else’s fire,

Though we are not “priests”, we are to always minister (serve) before  the Lord. We are called to be in praise, in worship, in fellowship and in constant fellowship with God. When we let the fire die, our spiritual

But how do you keep a fire going? You feed it with fuel, wood and air when the sparks seem to be disappearing. All of these components are essential to a keeping a fire alive. Without one, the other is ineffective.
1.Feed Your Spiritual Fire With Fuel – The word of God The word of God is the link that keeps us always aware of God’s voice – He longs to communicate with us and guide our paths.

2. Feed Your Spiritual Fire with Wood – Our worship and praise must be never ceasing. This keeps us aware of the presence of God all around us.

3. Feed Your Spiritual Fire with Air – When our fire seems to be waning, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to breath his breath of life back into our flame. Air keeps the fire alive and allows the flame to come alive We can certainly try to revive our dying fire on our own, but the Holy Spirit is the Breath of Life.
Job 33:4 states “The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”

Lord, help me to be intentional about keeping the fire of your Word alive in me. Help me keep my heart in worship and praise at all times, no matter how I feel. Help me to always depend on your Breath of Life to lead me and revive my spirit man.
