Three Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Quit

November 10, 2015

Over last few weeks,  I’ve felt drained and exhausted. There seemed to be pressure all around me and on the inside, I was starting to consider succumbing to the pressure. I wanted to call someone and complain and just give up because the situation seemed too hard.
Feeling overwhelmed, undervalued, and in over our heads will happen from time to time. Or maybe it will happen often depending on your job or your unique situation. But what helped to pull me out of the rut was a reminder  and a glimpse of God’s bigger picture.  Here are three reasons not to quit as you face tough situations:
  1.   If you quit, your divine purpose is Abandoned, Derailed or Postponed.  What ever it is that God wants you do is uniquely tied to where you are right now. Quitting means that you are putting off the fulfillment of that purpose.
  2.    If you quit, Someone Else’s Purpose Could Be Delayed, Abandoned or Derailed.  Someone needs you to push through because in watching you push through, he/she will push through his/her own challenges. Someone needs you to stay in because you will teach him/her how to overcome these very challenges you face today.
  3. Your Growth is Suspended and thwarted – If you never go through the fire, you don’t know what God can do and your faith never grows. If you don’t scale some mountains, you never learn the extent that God will go for you. If you don’t stay in the fight, you won’t ever know what happens at the finish line!

Don’t quit! Don’t give up! Stay in the Fight. If anyone had ample reason to quit, Job did. He lost his family, his health, and his wealth. But Job realized that a greater purpose that was at work in his life. In Job 23:10, he states ” But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.”      Through these experiences, you will come out as gold – valuable and full of worth.

Your Heavenly Father is working alongside with you. You are not fighting alone. You have tools and weapons at your immediate disposal. You have angels that have been given charge of you. The Holy Spirit is anxious to be your Helper and the Word of God is your sword and shield.  Begin to speak the word of God over your life. Expect God to move when you invite Him in.

Father, thank you that when I am close to quitting, you are the pillar that holds me up. Thank you that when I am weak, you are my strength. Thank you for the experiences that are making me come out as gold. Thank you that I am victorious through Christ Jesus.
